Hakware Scout

A lightweight network agent installed on your infrastructure that identifies every device on your network — including shadow IT — and builds a live asset map.

Hakware Scout

Complete network device visibility

What it does

Key capabilities

Device Discovery

Automatically detects and catalogues all devices connected to your network, including unmanaged and IoT endpoints.

Shadow IT Detection

Identifies unauthorised or unregistered devices that represent blind spots in your security posture.

Live Network Map

Creates a continuously updated map of your network-connected assets for full infrastructure awareness.

Continuous Scanning

Runs persistent network scans — not scheduled snapshots — so new devices are caught as soon as they connect.

Risk Flagging

Correlates discovered devices with known vulnerability data to flag high-risk endpoints immediately.

OneView Integration

All Scout data feeds directly into OneView for consolidated visibility alongside your other security data.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Scout is a lightweight agent installed on your infrastructure that performs continuous network scanning — ARP sweeps, ICMP probes, and passive traffic analysis — to identify every connected device including IoT, unmanaged endpoints, printers, and shadow IT assets that other tools miss.

No. Scout only needs to be installed on one or more network hosts and scans outward from there. Target devices require no software — Scout identifies them through network-layer discovery, which is why it catches rogue and unmanaged devices that agent-based solutions cannot see.

New devices are immediately added to the asset inventory and flagged for review. Scout cross-references the device against known vulnerability data — if the manufacturer and OS can be fingerprinted, it highlights any relevant CVEs immediately, allowing you to triage new assets before they become incidents.

All Scout discovery data feeds directly into OneView for consolidated asset visibility. Device data enriches the CVE Manager (matching CVEs to discovered OS/service versions), the Asset Security View (per-device risk panel), and the Investigations module for forensic context during incident response.
